My recent work incorporates my love of history and sculpture. The medium is photographs of a 1950’s dollhouse populated by antique German Caco dolls. This photograph is part of a series titled “Mothers Work Week.” The photos are based on the traditional Mother’s week as chanted in nursery rhymes and embroidered on tea towels. Monday was laundry day. As I gathered the historically appropriate items to use in the photograph, I’ve been struck by the types of toys that girls were given to prepaid them for their life’s work as wives and mothers.
