StatementArtist’s statement:
I have worked for many years as a Cartoonist and a Sculptor.
While most of my published cartoons on paper have long since decomposed, the most easily viewed sculpture is the Korean War Monument located outside the Soldier’s and Sailor’s Museum on East Main Street in Huntington, New York. It is based on a historical photograph. The call for Sculptors for the monument coincided with my sculpting bronze reliefs based on old family polaroid photographs and I secured the commission.
My recent work incorporates my love of history and sculpture. The medium is photographs of a 1950’s dollhouse populated by antique German Caco dolls. As I once would pick up a pen and ink a single panel cartoon or create a sculptural relief using family photographs, I now utilize photographs of the dollhouse and the dolls as my artistic medium. I enjoy recreating childhood memories and illustrating them, utilizing these unique antique playthings. Each print is one of a limited edition and available on request.
